Loropetalum Daruma - Compact Fringe Flower
Daruma variety of Loropetalum has become popular over the last few years for its compact form. Easily kept to 3' to 4' tall and wide. Landscape applications can be under windows, in the yard as shown above or as a hedge row to name a few. Blooms mainly in Spring then again in Fall. Once established, becomes a low water use plant. During hot spells of Summer, best to give some supplemental irrigation. With more sun, tends to have darker foliage. Prune after flowering to desired shape if needed.

Rhapsody in Pink is a repeat bloomer. Flower is sterile and will re-bloom on old flower panicles. As a shrub, height is 6 to 10'. When planted in a warm winter area, can reach to 15'. Can prune to shape like other Crape Myrtles. New foliage emerges purple and gradually changes to dark green with Summer heat. US plant patent PP16616 - 'Whit VIII'.

A compact flowering evergreen shrub that blooms for several months. This plant is in USDA / Sunset Zone 9. Started blooming in February with no apparent aversion to light frost.
Grows relatively fast to 3' x 3' with arching branches. Flower is darker than shown, was taken in morning sun. Tropical looking flower is about 2" across and leaf size of about 4" x 4".
Offers the Hibiscus look with a more compact size, long blooming cycle.
In Zone 9, almost always has some bloom on it. Observed one planted with some afternoon shade.
